High Five for Walsh Whiskey at London Spirits Competition

Walsh Whiskey Distillery carves a path of its own, wins five awards at an eminent awards competition in London

The Walsh Whiskey Distillery won five awards at the London Spirits Competition. The distillery based in Ireland entered the spirits competition and managed to raise the brands spirits.

Founded in 1999 by Bernard and Rosemary Walsh, the brand has mastered the craft of creating whiskeys at their distillery out in Royal Oak, Carlow, Ireland. Crafted manually, this distillery aims at achieving perfection with their whiskey. And, achieve perfection is what they did at the London Spirits Competition in March, 2018.

Walsh Whiskey- IrishmaltThe Irishman Single Malt was awarded the gold medal with a perfect score on all three components by the esteemed judge’s panel. Along with the gold, it also went on to pick three more awards, The Spirit of the Year, Whisky of the Year and the Best In Show award. One of the classic Irish malt, this whiskey is triple distilled and aged in Oak Bourbon and Oak Sherry Casks to give it exceptional complexity and flavour.  At the nose, it is ripe and fruity with peach, dried apricots and tropical fruits with a tinge of orange blossom and vanilla fudge. The palate comprises of vanilla sweetness, toasted almonds and honey, a little oak, digestive biscuits, apricots and hints of cocoa. The light malt and sweet oak linger at the finish.

Writers Tears- Walsh Whiskey

The Writers’ Tears Copper Pot, a unique vat of Single Malt and Aged Single Pot Still won the silver medal. At the nose, it has flashes of apple with hints of vanilla and honey. The palate is gently spiced with bursts of ginger and butterscotch along with notes of toasted oak.
